How is your garden doing?
I just got my first zucchini of the year! YAY! Although we have had a serious lack of rain, my garden has grown by leaps and bounds. The cucumbers are rounding out, blooming, and thriving. The tomatoes need to be staked. The tomatoes on my porch need to be planted. My cucuzzi have shot up the trellis, and are blooming. The sunflowers are almost 3 feet tall already! The lettuce garden is doing well, and all is well in the world.

I had a chance to go by the WS Farmer's Market this morning, visit with my girls, and shop for my dinner this week. I came home with locally grown sweet potatoes, blackberries, peas, strawberries, tomatoes (for Mom - and no, they weren't local), and a necklace and earrings from my girls. The peas are on the stove right now, and the strawberries are already filtering through my digestive tract. The last time I went to the market, I bought organic lettuce (to.die.for.), chocolate goat cheese from Sleepy Goat Dairy, broccoli, a Boxcar Willie tomato plant, and some flowers.
I made bread for our
Slow Food banquet tomorrow at
Levering Orchard in VA. I'm going to pick cherries tomorrow with my favorite girls! Oh, and Bobby, too. YAY!
