Garden progress

Wasn't today gorgeous? I told Dad earlier today that it's a good thing that I'm not God. If I were, the insects would rule the world, because I'd make every day like today. Not too hot or cold, no precip, clear Carolina blue skies, light breeze, and bright, warm sun.

So betwixt yesterday and today, I've accomplished quite a bit - cleaning out and freshening up the cat house, getting Chloe spayed (or neutered? I can never remember which is which), discing my garden, and spreading the leaves from fall into the soil. My garden already feels better. I also reclaimed some of our yard from the woods with the bushhog. Rah rah!

I've also done what I've been meaning to do forever - licensing both the cat and dog with the county. No more worries. At least I waited until Chloe was spayed, which saved me $20. Ginger reaped the savings, and is diggin her new collar and harness.

I also broke down and washed and vaccumed my poor old mail car, because tomorrow, I'll be learning route 4. Gotta make a good first impression.

Gonna finish up the spaghetti and meatballs I just started so we can get to class! I'm off to my second beekeeping class in Greensboro!! It's sooo exciting!

Good links for today: www.nonais.org and Laurie - farming as a way of life will change for the worse unless more people speak out!

Man o Man!

You inspired me! I worked in my 'gardens' today myself! AND I bought a 'shrub rake'!!! It is SO cute!!! It was at walmart and I cannot wait to get in there tomorrow and rake out the leaves!

I didn't do near the work you did - but I DID get my birdfeeder that was hanging (ugly) mounted on a post! It just sits at the top of the shrubs! Cool!

I spent most of the day in the car :o( But, intend to get more yard/garden stuff done tomorrow! yeah man!

Yay! for getting the Kitty fixed! She's such a great cat!
