Almost that time
Hard to believe it's almost Christmas - I'm still packing up decorations from Autumn.
We do have the tree up and decorated, and we're planning to host the family on Christmas day. This year, my dream came true, and I was able to buy all Blue and Silver for my tree and decorations. Something about those colors together just puts me in the right cold mood. Contrast it with the warmth of the lights, the critters, and the heart, and Christmas is made.
Had an appointment today, and everything is A-OK. My blood pressure and sugar are good, my weight is good (156 - all belly!) and Logan is growing exponentially. According to BabyCenter.com, he's about 3 pounds, and 16 inches long. His head is closest to my left leg, and his feet are nearing my rib cage on the right side. Looks like everything will go along normally, so I'm looking into home births. It's a bit late in the game, but my OB is the same guy that delivered me, and I really kinda like him. I just don't like the hospital he works with. I've seen babies born there, and since I'm gonna be a crunchy momma, they aren't condusive to my philosophy. Sad news is the Carolina Birthing Center in High Point will stop birthing as of January 1 because of lack of interest - and I'm not due until the end of February. Bah humbug.
My sister is selling her farm goodies via a cool new store - Spin a Yarn.. Weave a Web in good 'ole Warrensville, NC, across from Northwest School. Lots of organic yarn, looms, spindles, Christmas Trees, grass-fed meats, and other goodies are packed in that cute little spot. I can't wait to get up there and go shopping for a particular person.
Speaking of shopping, I've picked out most of the presents I'll be getting for family and friends. Some I'll make, some I've been dying to buy all year. I hate to admit, but I was one of those loonies out on the day after Thanksgiving, but it was entirely accidental. I was shopping for pajamas, not realizing it was the Buy Nothing day. D'oh! Bad Mandie! Luckily I made it out with only pajamas and jeans for hubby.
Sara's hosting her Pampered Chef party here tomorrow, and we've been straightening up all week. I've had to replace the A/C compressor in my car again, for the third time since July. I'm not pleased. Dad is home again from his big deer hunt in Ohio after three months, and it's nice to have an excuse to go over every day. He finally got his Dakota off the rack (four motor support bolts later), and have figured out the noise we're hearing now is the torque converter. We'll play with it tomorrow. Speaking of which, I'm reminding myself to buy the heating element for my dryer tomorrow, too, so I don't have to drive the Rose laundromat every day.
This has been boring, so if you're still reading, bless your heart. Go find something more worthwhile. And in case I don't blog between now and then, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

I had a homebirth with my now five year old. If you are interested in a lay midwife (no medical degree etc) I can maybe find one for you. Tell me what city you are in and I will look.
Home Birthing? You are the QUEEN of Crunchy Mamas!!!! :o)
Glad to hear you are doing well! The Christmas Kitty and tree look delightful!
See you SOON!
De Mama
Warrensville, NC. is where my Daddy was born and raised. Momma came from the Clifton/Creston area. I have aunts, uncles, and cousins all over Ashe County. My second cousin founded and still runs Miracle Mountain and runs the restaurant in Clifton. As a matter of fact, my great grandfather built the building that houses the store and lived in the house next door to the store.
