I went to the coolest place...

Cabinet I went to the coolest place yesterday... and I bet you've never been. Poor you. Really. I feel so sorry for you.

Where? Oh, guess that's important, eh? A cute little cabin in Warrensville. Where? Oh, that's in the mountains, near West Jefferson - in Ashe County? Yeah, that's the place. It's right across from the Northwest Middle School (which was a high school when I went there). What's it called? Spin a Yarn... Weave a Web. Want to see more photos of all the cool stuff? I knew you would. You can't resist. Really. Who are you kidding? You can still get really cool, handmade presents there for Christmas, or a birthday, or anniversary... or any other holidays you celebrate and need really cool gifts for. Yarns, organic meats, jelly, sweaters, doll clothes, folk art, looms, walking sticks... you name it, they got it.

So go already!

You know, it's an outside chance that you and I might be kinfolk. Check it out.

It's wonderful to see something like this in Ashe County. I love the fact that people are getting back to the earth and the simpler things. But mostly, things that are better for us as a country and as human beings.
I drive by there on my way 'home'. I'm live in Charlotte but am from Lansing, and I went to Northwest too. Graduated in '79. My mom, Estella Goss, taught at Northwest as well as Lansing High School for 32 years. She probably taught someone in your family or someone that you know. My brother is the owner of Warrensville Drug Store and plays dobro for Rock Bottom. You may know him too.
I'm loving the fact that there are some great Ashe County folks out there that I can connect to. Love your blog and your photos on Flickr.
