4 months isn't very long, really
Much can be accomplished in only four short months. Especially if you're a baby.
At yesterday's doctor visit, Logan weighed in at 16 lbs 10 oz, was 26" long, and his head measured 18" around. He had his third round of shots, four in all. He's laughing, scooting, holding up his head and chest, and rolling over. And he loves to stand up on those chunky legs. He's been to Ohio, Virginia, Stone Mountain, Lansing, Statesville, Taylorsville, and all around town. He's had his feet in the waters of Lake Alma and in Stone Mountain Creek. He's smiled at relatives he won't remember and fell asleep on his pawpaw almost every day. He wakes up in the morning beside me and smiles as soon as his eyes pop open. He loves his ninnies and gets all excited when they sneak out to feed him. He loves getting his diaper changed, even though he doesn't care that it's wet. He looks totally cute in a cloth diaper, and I feel much better knowing I'm not contributing to the landfill as much as most other modern American moms.
I never in a million years thought I would say this, but I just love being Logan's mom. I hope he is this happy and laid back for the rest of his life.
I am finally losing some weight, along with my Sara, although I think I'm sweating mine off just sitting around. It's amazing how different your body is after a baby - and not just the obvious part. I love having boobs, don't get me wrong, but now I have no shirts that will fit. Pre-pregnancy I didn't sweat. I had a very strict food preferences. I could sit down for a meal. I had time to read emails. I could keep the house clean. I could accomplish a whole lot in a few hours, which I though was called multi-tasking. Now I know multi-tasking is feeding the baby and trying to pee, then having to wipe with the wrong hand because the right hand is injured. Just sayin'.
Bobby and I have celebrated our birthdays, our son's birthday, our first Mother's and Father's day, Logan's newest cousin being born, and we've mourned the loss of friends and family members in this short time. We've missed weddings and anniversaries, and birthdays we should have remembered. Friends have I've returned to work a few days a week, Bobby's picked up an additional route at the post office, and cut his time at the Wally world. We've become accustomed to calling each other Momma and Daddy. We've given up on our dreams of world travel for at least the next few years. We have started planning home schooling curriculums and field trips. The dog is used to playing second fiddle. We're getting better at finding great deals. We're saving money for once. I thank God for long naps. It's all really surreal.
Speaking of animals, we just had a new litter of kittens. We haven't found homes for the first litter yet. So if anyone wants some cutesy 4 month olds, let me know. We have one male, and two females. The new litter of 5 were born two days ago, and I won't let them go until they are at least 8 weeks old. They are okay with dogs, or at least with Ginger, and Ginger doesn't like cats. So that's saying something.
My sister is really doing well at the Ashe County farmer's market. She's also been invited to the Valle Crucis market, so if you're near Boone, check her out on Wednesday afternoons.
Happy 4th of July, since I probably won't blog before then!

Glad to hear that you're enjoying motherhood! I hope that Logan's first summer will be full of joy.
What an excellent blog! I feel up-to-date and in AWE of how wonderful a Mom you've turned out to be! I couldn't be more proud - I'm on the verge of sinnin' already! :o)
LOVE you!!!
